The Venetian Lagoon is a world of its own: shallow waters, channels marked by traditional wooden poles, colourful islands, and surprising silence just minutes away from the city. Seeing it from a boat is a completely different experience.
Burano and Mazzorbo Le case colorate di Burano sono un classico, ma vale la pena proseguire fino a Mazzorbo, più tranquilla, con i suoi vigneti e le sue passeggiate.
Torcello. It was one of the first settlements in the lagoon. Today, it is a small and almost silent island, home to the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta and its stunning Byzantine mosaics.
Murano. Perfect for those who love artistic glass. Explore workshops and furnaces to discover how some of the island’s most famous creations are made.
Sant’Erasmo and the smaller islands. Known as the “vegetable garden of Venice,” Sant’Erasmo is ideal for a stop away from the crowds. The Vignole islands and the lagoon’s salt marshes also offer beautiful views worth capturing.
Pellestrina e Chioggia. For a longer itinerary, head south to discover fishermen, seaside villages, and excellent fresh seafood.
A few things to keep in mind. In the lagoon, tides and water depths matter. Respect the marked channels, speed limits, and protected areas. If it’s your first time, having a local skipper on board can be a valuable choice.
